NSD set to stage Kannada play

The National School of Drama, Bangalore , will be staging ‘Ee kelaginavaru’ a kannada play by B T Desai.

The National School of Drama, Bangalore , will be staging ‘Ee kelaginavaru’ a kannada play by B T Desai. The play is the kannada adaptation of Maxim Gorky’s ‘Lower Depths’ and is  a result of NSD’s six-month-long Advanced Course in Theatre Techniques and Production, which is coming to an end. Chidambara Rao Jambe has directed the play.

The play is scheduled at Guru Nanak Bhavan on September 20, 21 and 22 at 7 pm. The team will tour all over Karnataka and perform from September 23 to October 15. As many as 20 students selected from all over Karnataka have been directed and taught by eminent litterateurs and critics like K Marulasiddappa, O L Nagabhushan, S G Siddaramiah, H S Venkatesha Murthy, Prathibha Nandakumar, H L Pushpa, G K Govinda Rao and by noted theatre experts like Anamika Haksar, Raghunandan, Aniruddha Kutuwad, Mallika Prasad, M S Sathyu, Suresh Anagalli, Channakeshava G, Ashok Sagar Bhagath, Amitesh Grover, Santosh Pai, Prasanna D, Amba Sanyal and others.
