On Ugadi, Man Stabbed to Death by Drunk Friends

A Ugadi party went awfully wrong when a group of friends stabbed a 38-year-old man to death after fighting over a petty issue.

A Ugadi party went awfully wrong when a group of friends stabbed a 38-year-old man to death after fighting over a petty issue.

On Monday evening, Manjunath and two of his relatives, Manikantha and Lakshman, were consuming liquor with 11 others friends on the terrace of a choultry. Manjunath got into a fight over a petty issue, during which one of them, Ranjith, stabbed him on his neck and his side.

Manikantha and Lakshman called Ravi, the victim’s brother, and rushed Manjunath to a hospital, where he died. The others escaped. The accused are Ranjith, Pambu Kumar, Saras alias Suresh, Banli Manju alias Manjunath, Vinod alias Chota Bhai, Prabhu, Seena and Muruga.

None of the accused have any prior cases against them, according to the police. Police are on the lookout for the accused.
