A fault in a transformer at Attibele led to load-shedding at Attibele, Mayasandra, Ballur, Yedavanhalli and surrounding areas on Monday before an alternative source of power was arranged. According to BESCOM, the 20 MVA transformer was declared faulty by KPTCL staff.
Power supply has been arranged from another transformer till the faulty transformer is replaced, a statement said.
Rules mandate that transformers located within urban areas must be replaced within 24 hours and within 72 hours in rural areas.
