Goods Vehicles Plying People to be Penalised

District election officer of Bangalore Rural has given a direction to the RTO and police officials to penalise goods vehicle owners using their vehicles for purposes other than ferrying goods.

The move comes after it was noticed that parties were using these vehicles for campaigning and for transporting public for campaigns in Chikballapur constituency.

V Shankar, DEO in a statement said that goods vehicle owners who have obtained permission for carrying goods under the Motor Vehicle Act could not use them for any other purpose.
