Security in Strong Rooms Beefed Up

Security at BMS College for Women in Basavanagudi was beefed up on Thursday evening with buses carrying electronic voting machines from various  polling booths arriving at the college.

Security at BMS College for Women in Basavanagudi was beefed up on Thursday evening with buses carrying electronic voting machines from various  polling booths arriving at the college.

A group of policemen manned the gates and the road outside the campus, diverting traffic and checking identity cards of those  entering the building.

City police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) personnel will maintain security at all three strong rooms in the city — RC College, SSMRV College and Home Science College.

The rooms will be guarded by CISF personnel, the inner perimeter of the colleges

by KSRP men and the external perimeter by the local

police. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Kamal Panth said: “CCTVs, metal detectors and wireless systems have been set up. Fire tenders are also in place.”
