COMED-K Counselling Only for 42 Percent Seats

The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) has clarified that the  counselling for post-graduate medical and dental courses, scheduled to begin on  Monday, is only for 42 per cent of seats which come under the COMED-K quota.

A S Srikanth, chief executive officer of COMED-K, told Express, “We have nothing to do with the 33 per cent of seats which come under the government quota. They will be filled by the government, even at private medical and dental colleges.”

The first round of counselling for this section of seats will be held from Monday to Wednesday. On day one, dental seats will be filled, and on the next two days, medical seats will be filled. The counselling will commence at 8.30 am on all three days.

Measures to Prevent Malpractice

 Rigid counselling centre management

 Mandatory submission of original photo ID used during written test

 Biometric data and photo collection, with digital recording at counselling centre.

 Debarring candidates involved in malpractices from participating

 Publishing photo and other details of candidates resorting to malpractices on COMED-K and college websites

 Reporting to the Medical Council of India and the concerned state council to withdraw/annul registration certificates given to such candidates

 Medicine: PG - 311, PG Diploma - 76

 Dentistry: PG - 230, PG Diploma - 4
