Two Minors Found Dead Near HSR Layout

Decomposed bodies of two minor boys were found in an abandoned shed in Chikkanayakanahalli near HSR Layout on Saturday afternoon.

The victims have been identified as Venu (17) and his brother Pawan (16), both  residents of Junnasandra on Sarjapur Road.

Police suspect that the incident took place 4-5 days ago and the culprits were the brothers’ friends.

Venu and Pawan were neither studying nor working and their parents are daily wage workers in HSR Layout. On Saturday afternoon, a passer-by found the body after he went inside the shed on sensing foul smell. He then alerted the police. The bodies have been sent for autopsy.

A senior police officer said preliminary investigations have revealed the brothers took blows to the head with an iron rod.

Venu and Pawan were allegedly involved in a few petty thefts.

Woman, Grandson Drown in Tank

 Bangalore: A 68-year-old woman and her grandson drowned in a tank at Vemagal near Nandagudi in Hoskote taluk on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Gouramma and Suneel (17), both residents of Dalasagere in Hoskote. 

Police said the incident occurred around 11.30 pm when Gouramma had gone to wash clothes. Suneel, who had accompanied her, was a sixth standard student at the local government school.

Suneel jumped into the tank for a swim, but he started drowning. Gouramma went to his rescue, but both drowned.

A passer-by noticed their bodies floating and informed the villagers, who then rushed to the spot with the police.
