A 16-year-old boy was arrested by the HSR layout police for allegedly killing Venu (17) and his brother Pavan (16).

The decomposed bodies of the brothers were found in a shack in Chikkanayakanahalli in HSR layout, after passersby noticed a foul smell emanating from the shack. During investigation, it was found that the boys were last seen with the 16-year-old accused, who was then traced to his village in Hosur. On questioning, he confessed to the crime.

According to HSR police, Venu and the accused were sent to a remand home in 2013 after being caught for a crime. At the remand home, their enmity grew as they blamed each other for getting caught. Once out of the home, however, they continued to move around together, because of their addiction to inhalant drugs.

On April 9, the deceased Venu and his brother met the accused to inhale drugs and while at the shack, a fight over their previous arrest ensued. During the course of the fight, the accused hit the victims with a wooden log. The two bled to death while the accused escaped.
