The arrest of three people involved in a jewellery theft, by the Ahmedabad police, may have solved the murder of a jewellery shop owner in Rajajinagar that took place over a year ago.

In March last year, Shravan Kumar (45), brother-in-law of BJP leader Lehar Singh Siroya, was stabbed and bludgeoned to death by a gang, which then proceeded to loot the entire shop. All this took place in a matter of one hour, in broad daylight, while the shop assistant had gone out.

According to the city police, the Ahmedabad police arrested the three in connection with another jewellery theft in November last year in the city. During questioning, the three confessed to the murder of Shravan Kumar in Bangalore. The detainees will either be brought to Bangalore or questioned in Ahmedabad itself, sources said.
