BANGALORE: A former and current corporator got embroiled in a fist fight, allegedly over a land issue, at the Joint Commissioner’s office (BBMP, South) in Jayanagar II Block on Wednesday.

Yediyur corporator Ramesh and former corporator Prabhu had gone to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike office to meet the same official. They got into an altercation on seeing one another and later came to blows.

The BBMP staff intervened and stopped the fight from getting out of hand, before alerting the police. The police soon arrived at the office and asked the duo not to create a ruckus on BBMP premises.

A senior police officer told Express, “The exact reason for their fight is not known yet. But it is suspected that they quarreled over a land issue.”

He added that both Ramesh and Prabhu have filed police complaints stating that the other party began the fight.
