BANGALORE: A couple has filed a case against St Mary’s Hospital in Chamarajpet, alleging that medical negligence resulted in the death of their newborn.
Roopa, a resident of KG Nagar, was hospitalised on Friday. She gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday night but the infant died within half-an-hour. As soon as they realised that the baby was not breathing, the parents complained to the hospital authorities but were told there were no doctors around. The hospital nurses had themselves delivered the baby in the absence of a doctor, Roopa’s husband Kumar said.
