Man Hacked to Death by Friends in Drunken Brawl

A 25-year-old driver was allegedly hacked to death by his friends in a drunken brawl at Sarjapur on Thursday.

BANGALORE: A 25-year-old driver was allegedly hacked to death by his friends in a drunken brawl at Sarjapur on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as  Manjunath, a resident of Kugur, who was working at a private transport company. Police have arrested four men— Sharan (24), Kiran (27),  Krishnamurthy (32) and Kitti (25), all residents of Gonighattapura in Sarjapur — in connection with the case.

According to police sources, the accused picked a quarrel with Manjunath near a bar at Gonighattapura. Manjunath, under the influence of alcohol, started verbally abusing the four. They attacked him with lethal weapons and then fled. Manjunath died on the spot.

Man Found Dead

A 23-year-old man was found dead at his house at Vijinapur in Ramamurthy Nagar on Thursday.

Vivek Selvam, a native of  Tamil Nadu, was working at a private LPG distribution company and staying alone in a rented house in the city.  Police sources said Vivek may have hanged himself after falling out with his family over a marriage proposal.
