BANGALORE: Four people allegedly kidnapped a cab driver and assaulted him before speeding away in his car on Thursday night in Chandra Layout police station limits.

Police said cab driver Ajay Kumar (28), a resident of Nagasandra, had parked his vehicle on Outer Ring Road near Jnanabharathi after dropping an employee at Kurubarahalli.

Police said the four unidentified men came near his cab around 12.30 am. On noticing him asleep, they attacked him and covered his face with a towel.

They then kidnapped Kumar in his car and robbed him of his two mobile phones and `700, police said.

When they were near Sondekoppa,  they pushed Kumar out of the car and drove away, police added.

Kumar managed to reach Chandra Layout police station and filed a case. Police are on the lookout for the accused.
