The state government has appealed before the division bench seeking vacation of the stay order on the notice issued by it to sugar factories.

BANGALORE: The state government has appealed before the division bench seeking vacation of the stay order on the notice issued by it to sugar factories. The state had directed the factories to pay `2,500 per tonne to sugarcane growers and had warned of penal action in case they failed to do so.

A division bench of Chief Justice D H Waghela and Justice H G Ramesh directed the sugar factories and the state government to convene a meeting and inform the court of the outcome. The case was adjourned till Monday.
