Burkha-clad Men’s Robbery Bid Foiled

Two men dressed in burkhas allegedly attempted to rob the Manappuram Finance office at Prashanth Nagar on Nagarbhavi Main Road on Thursday.

BANGALORE: Two men dressed in burkhas allegedly attempted to rob the Manappuram Finance office at Prashanth Nagar on Nagarbhavi Main Road on Thursday. They are said to have barged into the office at around 3.45 pm, but had to abort their plan after the alert manager, noticing the two men attack the security guard, pressed the emergency alarm. The two fled the scene immediately.

The duo assaulted the security guard  Gururaj and threatened him with a toy gun. He fell to the ground following the blows, but Praveen, the manager, noticed this and raised alarm. The entire incident, as recorded by CCTV cameras, played out in about eight minutes.

Industrialist’s Home Burgled

Burglars broke into the residence of an industrialist at Frazer Town and made away with gold and silver ornaments worth `30 lakh.

Pulikesinagar police said Mohammed Asad, who runs a granite business on Mudaliar Road, left for a trip with his family members on May 6. He returned on Wednesday night and found the house ransacked. The thieves entered the house after cutting the grills of a window.
