Huh? Biscuits are Upon Us?

Modi has won. NaMo is No 1. People are celebrating. It’s a wave. It is such a huge wave it has swept state after state. As BJP boss Rajnath Singh would say, it’s a mehatvapoorn wave.

BANGALORE: Modi has won. NaMo is No 1. People are celebrating. It’s a wave. It is such a huge wave it has swept state after state. As BJP boss Rajnath Singh would say, it’s a mehatvapoorn wave.

The pundits are asking in wonderment: ‘How did Modi replicate his Gujarat victory in such diverse conditions?’ Oh, that was easy. He just used Modi xerox. (Gawd! Will these PJs ever cease?)

Anyway, a democracy is bidding goodbye to a dynasty, and has chosen a proud chaiwallah to lead it. That can’t be a bad thing.

In the Congress, too, we see a wave, although it was a bit late in coming. A Rahul Gandhi wave. Yes, he waved goodbye.

And what were Modi’s first words after his victory? Good days are upon us. Not  the biscuits, stupid. Good days. Sounds familiar? A bit like that famous jingle, no? Happy days are here again. Everybody’s feeling great on Thums Up... The aspirational guys are thrilled he sang a cola-style tune, and not something dowdy, like Vaishnava janato. Everybody’s feeling great, even the stock markets. Modi rocks. And on that happy note, let’s congratulate our next PM. Good luck, sir!
