BANGALORE: A 24-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging at her house in Akkipet, due to alleged dowry harassment, on Friday evening.
The deceased Sumana, a resident of Magadi Road, was married to Srinivas, a cloth merchant, three years ago. The police said that she hanged herself to the ceiling in the bathroom around 4.30 pm.
After returning home, Srinivas found her hanging and informed the police. However, no suicide note was found at the spot and Sumana’s parents filed a complaint against Srinivas, his father Prakash and mother Gayatri, for allegedly harassing her for dowry.
