BMTC Staff Assault Depot Manager

BMTC employees and depot staff allegedly assaulted the manager of Adakamaranahalli depot (Depot No-40) near Nelamangala, after he allegedly harassed them.

BANGALORE: BMTC employees and depot staff allegedly assaulted the manager of Adakamaranahalli depot (Depot No-40) near Nelamangala, after he allegedly harassed them.

Police said drivers and conductors staged a protest on Friday afternoon against the manager, who was allegedly forcing them to give commission from their salary and other benefits.

After a while Nataraju, the manager, came out from his chamber and angry employees manhandled him. Senior officers came to the spot and convinced them to stop the protest after a discussion over their issues and assured that legal action will be taken against the manager once an enquiry is conducted. Later the police rushed to the spot and the situation was under control. Madanayakanahalli police inspector said no one has filed a complaint.

Advocate Mugged by Gang of Five 

A gang of five unidentified men who came on three bikes threatened an advocate at knife point and escaped with his mobile phone and other valuables in KG Halli on Thursday night.

The police said the incident took place around 10.15 pm when Munna, a resident of Lingarajapuram, had gone for a walk after having dinner. Munna rushed to the KG Halli police station and filed a complaint.
