‘Be Prepared’ is the Motto of Scouts and Guides

CHENNAI: Our Lady’s Higher Secondary School, Thiruvottiyur conducted Mini Boscoree for Guides, from October 16 to October 19. The theme of the event was ‘Heal the World’. Guides from various institutions gathered as a preparation before the 12th national Boscoree (All India Scouts and Guides gathering) to be held in Thanjavur from December 30, 2014 to January 3, 2015.

250 Guides from Fatima Hr Sec School,  Kodambakkam, Our Lady’s Hr Sec School, Broadway, St Francis Xavier Hr Sec School, Broadway, Auxilium Hr Sec School, Chetpet, Auxilium Hr Sec School, Tanjore, Auxilium Hr Sec School, Katpadi , MIC, Tirupattur, St Mary’s, Vellore, Auxilium Hr Sec School, Madurai, St Joseph’s, Arni, Auxilium, Keeleral, and  the host school, participated in the event .

Various games and competitions were conducted. The winners were awarded grades like A, B and C, and participation certificates were distributed during the valedictory function.

Rev Fr Sundar, chief commissioner (Guides) for Don Bosco District Association was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Prabu, Inspector General of Police, was the chief guest for the valedictory function. He distributed awards and certificates to the winners.

Krishna Rao was the special guest during the function. Rev Sr Anna Rani welcomed the gathering and Rev Sr Reeta proposed the vote of thanks.

Rev Sr Margaret S, the organising secretary felicitated the Guides for their dedicated service and deep involvement.
