Man Held, 1 kg of Gold Recovered

BENGALURU: The S J Park police have cracked a robbery case in which two kg of gold was stolen from a businessman at Kempegowda International Airport in August, with the arrest of a 37-year-old man on Saturday.

Police said they have recovered 1 kg of gold ingots, worth `30 lakh, from Kiran Sham, a resident of AECS Layout in Sanjaynagar.

Police said Sham, a native of Gujarat, was nabbed on OTC Road following a tip- off. He did not have any documents for the ingots and did not give convincing answers when questioned, police said.

He was taken to S J Park police station where he confessed that he and his associates had robbed a businessman. He told them that he had sold the remaining gold to jewellers.
