College Holds Cultural Event Themed on Spices

BENGALURU: Indian Institute of Plantation Management organised Finestra-2014, an inter-collegiate cultural event, on its premises recently. Students from colleges across the country took part in the event. 

 Director of the institution, Prof V G Dhanakumar inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp, and the programme started with IBIQ - a national level business quiz competition.

The questions related to spices kept the participants engaged and excited. Gurudatta A R and Aditya Krishna from PESIT won the first prize, while Sunder Srinivas and Pranav Nair of Christ University bagged the second prize.

 The quiz was followed by Parikalpana - Product Design with Spices, wherein Vikas Singh and Shilpa L of IIPMB bagged the first prize and the second prize was shared by Priti Kumari and Sherin Sam of Kristu Jayanti College and Padmapriya and Mary Neeta of IIPMB. In Kalawarana-Ragoli with Spices, Padmapriya of IIPMB bagged the first prize and Rinu Cheriyan of Kristu Jayanti College won the second prize. A fashion show was staged by the students of NIFT Bangalore and skits were presented by the students of IIPMB.

 The valedictory ceremony was attended by K G Nanda, former VP of Tata Tea Ltd and adjunct faculty at IIPMB, A N Vijayakumar, chairperson-PG programmes, and faculty members K Venkateswaran and K Narendran.
