Robbery Bid at Jewel Store Foild

BENGALURU: The owner of a jewellery store located in Thambu Chetty Palya, near K R puram, have discovered a robbery attempt close to three weeks after it was made.

On October 28, Paras, the Krishna Jewellers’ , woke up around 1 am as the alarm in the store was ringing.

He rushed downstairs, but found nothing amiss. Little did he know that thieves were trying to drill a hole into his shop and had just hit the wall of the compound triggering the alarm.

The robbers’ attempt came to light only on Wednesday morning when employees at the neighbouring school discovered a hole and informed the jeweller.

On further inspection, the school employees and the jeweller found that the hole led to the compound wall of the jeweller.

Recalling the alarm ringing on October 28, Paras filed a complaint at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station.

A police official said, “Ever since the alarm rang that night, Paras has made sure someone is staying in the shop at night.

“On that day when he checked the store, nothing was missing. He was smart enough to make sure that the alarm was set in such a way that when something hits the compound wall, it went off.”

The only unusual item found in the hole was a black bag, they added.
