4-year-old Allegedly Raped by Electrician

BENGALURU: A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an electrician in an apartment at Sarjapur.

Police said that the incident occurred on November 10. The accused Aravind Reddy (42), a resident of Sarjapur, had come to the apartment belonging to a techie to repair the fan. There, he noticed the girl who was playing outside the house while her mother was busy with her chores.

Reddy lured the girl with chocolates and took her inside the bathroom where he allegedly raped her. He later escaped from the scene.

The mother found the crying girl who complained of pain in her private parts. She was taken to Bowring Hospital, where the doctors found that she was sexually assaulted. The parents approached Sarjapur police and gave information about the accused Reddy, who was nabbed on Wednesday.

Labourer Dies

A 28-year-old labourer died after he accidentally fell from the seventh floor of an under- construction building at Arakere near Hulimavu on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Hanumantha, a native of North Karnataka. He was plastering a wall when he lost balance and fell.

Police said the incident occurred around 8.30 pm. The other workers took him to a hospital nearby, where he was declared brought dead. Hulimavu police registered a case of negligence against the building owner and contractor.
