BENGALURU: A 24-year-old autorickshaw driver was allegedly hacked to death by a gang of five men at Siddartha Spirit Bar and Restaurant at Yediyur, police said.
Harish, a resident of Jayanagar 7th Block had gone to drink with his friends at the bar. Around 10.30 pm, five men, who came to the bar attacked Harish with lethal weapons. Then, the other customers ran away. The miscreants also threatened the bar cashier and snatched `1 lakh from him, the police said.
The reason for murder is yet to be ascertained.
Jayanagar police, who have registered a case, are searching for the accused.
History-sheeter Beheaded
A 30-year-old history-sheeter was attacked by some unidentified people at K G Halli on Sunday night.
Vinod, who died on the spot, was a resident of Bagalur Layout. The police said he was attacked at 9.30 pm. The assailants beheaded him and cut off his arms. They suspect Vinod was involved in the murder of Daniel, another history-sheeter. Daniel’s brother and his associates might have murdered Vinod, they said.
