Former Driver Held for Stealing Bus

BENGALURU: Upparpet police on Thursday arrested a 38-year-old man who had allegedly stolen a private bus worth Rs.16 lakh. The accused Narayana Reddy is a native of Chikballapur.

Police said the owner of a private travel agency in Upparpet had complained that one of their buses was stolen a week ago. During investigation police found that Reddy, who was a driver with the firm, had left the job recently. They grew suspicious and went in search of him to his hometown and found the bus parked near his house.

When the police grilled him, he confessed that he stole the bus by using a duplicate key and had planned to sell parts of the bus to make easy money.
