Alert Passenger Helps Bus Driver, Averts Tragedy

BANGALORE: An alert passenger, after noticing that the bus driver was uncomfortable while driving, managed to get passengers off the bus and rushed him to a hospital for treatment on Monday.

Renuka Prasad, 28, was driving a Volvo bus when Devaraj, a passenger on the front seat, noticed that he was feeling uncomfortable.

When asked, Prasad said that he was feeling pain in the chest. Devaraj asked him to quietly stop the bus and asked passengers to alight at Wilson Garden. He took Prasad to St Martha’s Hospital for treatment.

The doctors conducted an ECG test but the reports were normal. It turned out that the driver had some gastric trouble which caused the pain.

Meanwhile, the BMTC officials said that there was nothing to worry about and a tragedy was averted thanks  to the alert passenger.
