QUEEN’S ROAD:  PU colleges in the city have reopened and a fresh batch of students are entering a new phase in their lives. City Express visited a few institutions to strike a conversation with some of them.

“I’m pretty excited about college life, and want to make new friends. I still miss my school friends and teachers. We had so much fun doing crazy things. In college, I need to wear a uniform but I wish it’s only twice a week,” says M Namratha, a student of Sri Sai Vidyalaya.

“First day of college was nice, I was feeling a bit nervous but the lecturers were friendly, so it was good. All my school friends have joined with me and we all are in the same class. So, I don’t really miss my school days,” says Sandhya P, a student of Seshadripuram Composite College.

Gopal Modi, a student of Seshadripuram College, is not happy. He says, “I came here with a lot of excitement but the college environment did not match that. Classrooms were not tidy as in school and college starts at 7.30, which is too early. Canteen offers only coffee, tea and idlis, so it is boring.”

Sachin S of Seshadripuram Composite College says, “It’s a new kind of life, lots of opportunities open up here. I miss my school friends but can make new friends.”

Bhavana D of the same college says, “On the first day, I was excited and nervous at the same time. I was able to make more friends. College is better than school as we don’t have to wear uniform.”
