BENGALURU: The Advocates’ Association of Bangalore (AAB) has decided to abstain from all judicial proceedings on Friday.
The decision was taken to protest against the state government’s decision to reject sanction to the CBI to prosecute 54 police personnel who were named in the chargesheet in connection with the violence at City Civil Court complex on March 2, 2012. AAB president H C Shivaramu said on Tuesday they will hold a peaceful protest on Friday and submit a memorandum to Governor Vajubhai Vala seeking directions to the government to review its decision. Shivaramu appealed to the heads of 189 advocates’ associations across the state to show solidarity by abstaining from judicial proceedings on Friday.
