BENGALURU: Upset over parental opposition to their marriage, a 22-year-old man and his lover committed suicide by throwing themselves under a moving train at Avadadenalli near Anekal on Sunday.
The deceased Bharath, a daily wager, and his lover Nandini (20) were residents of Aravantigepura in Anekal. Police said Nandini’s parents had asked Bharath to stay away from her and arranged her marriage with another person. The marriage took place three weeks ago.
An upset Nandini she met Bharath near his farm on Sunday and the couple decided to end their lives. Around 8.30 am they came under a passenger train. A passerby alerted Baiyappanahalli railway police who shifted the bodies for postmortem. Police identified the deceased and informed their families.
Youth Rams Bike Into Bus, Dies
An 18-year-old BCom student died after his motorcycle crashed into a BMTC bus on Bull Temple Road near Basavanagudi on Sunday. Police said he was talking on his mobile phone when the accident occurred.
Karthik, a resident of Vijay Nagar, was on his way to a relative’s house around 11.30 am when he met with the accident. He was speeding and lost control over his bike and rammed into the bus coming from the opposite direction, police said.
He sustained severe head injuries as he was also not wearing a helmet, police added.
