ISEC Board Dismisses Chairperson

BENGALURU: Following allegations of misdeeds raised against its chairperson, the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC) Bengaluru removed G Thimmaiah from his post.

The Board met at the institute on Saturday and passed a resolution removing prof Thimmaiah. Thimmaiah was elected for a three-year term in January 2013. The Board of Governors have appointed retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary A Ravindra as the new chairperson for the remaining term till December 2015.

On December 23, 2014, T N Bhat, an assistant professor of ISEC, complained to the Upa Lokayukta against Thimmappa seeking a probe into alleged financial and administrative irregularities in the institute.
