AIIMS Team in City to Probe D K Ravi Death

BENGALURU:  A team from the forensic sciences department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences

(AIIMS), New Delhi, visited Victoria Hospital on Sunday in connection with the CBI investigation of IAS officer D K Ravi’s unnatural death.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of the department, forensic sciences, AIIMS, along with Dr Adarsh Kumar, additional professor and Dr Abhishek, assistant professor from the forensic sciences department, visited the residence of Ravi where he was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The officer also took details Ravi’s autopsy report.

The officers checked the ceiling fan and also noted details about the accessibility of the point of suspension and gathered details about the support taken with the chair. Videographs were made.

Officials interacted with experts from the forensic sciences department in Victoria Hospital where Ravi’s post-mortem was conducted. Dr Venkatraghavan, HoD forensic sciences department Victoria had conducted Ravi’s autopsy.

About 15 days will be required for the officials to review the materials and give a consolidated opinion on the matter.
