QUEEN’S ROAD: The premium international charity golf event, The Duke of Edinburgh Cup, will be held in Bengaluru on August 29 at the Prestige Golfshire Club.

Recognised as the most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the world, The Duke of Edinburgh Cup has picked Christel House as the charity of choice.

This is an annual international amateur golf  tournament  where qualifiers from nominated charity events in 12-15 countries across the world meet for the finals at Windsor, UK.

Raju Shahani, managing director, Christel House India said, “We are delighted to associate with the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh Cup. Golf is a game of discipline and integrity, values that are embedded into the Christel House model. Our success over the years is an outcome of a holistic education driven by values, vision and the patronage of our philanthropic supporters.”

Christel House is a not for profit organisation helping children break the cycle of poverty, realise their hopes and dreams and become self-sufficient contributing members of society. The school nurtures impoverished children from kindergarten to a professional career.

Rishi Narain, CEO and founder, RN Golf Management, said, “We are overwhelmed by the fabulous corporate support for Christel House School. After hosting this event which puts it on the world map, Bengaluru deserves to be the permanent home for this prestigious event.”

The tournament is a one-day event for up to 100 golfers, playing as pairs in a Stableford format with full handicap. Two winners will qualify and then go on to represent India at The Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals in Windsor, from September 27 to October 1. The pair with the best combined net Stableford scores over 18 holes will be selected and invited for an all-expenses paid trip to the UK.

The World Finals in the UK, spread over four days in the autumn, are designed to create a memorable occasion for the qualifiers. This unique experience includes a round of golf at the British Royal Family’s private course inside the grounds of Windsor Castle. There will also be a Black tie, Royal champagne dinner with Prince Edward and other members of the Royal family at the Windsor Castle State Ballroom, along with a five-night stay at The Castle Hotel in Windsor London. The event is being organised by RN Golf Management, India’s premier golf management company.
