Karnatak Concert for Students Today at Sri Ranga Sabhagana

Sumadhura Education and Cultural Trust presents Chiguru, a concert series conceptualised for the students of music.

VIJAYANAGAR:  Sumadhura Education and Cultural Trust presents Chiguru, a concert series conceptualised for the students of music, at Sri Ranga Sabhagana from 5.30 pm onwards today.

K A Somaiah, founder-director of Udaya School and G Rangaswamy, president of Sumadhura Education and Cultural Trust will be chief guests on the occasion.

Artistes Dhanya V Shagrithaya and Disha Bhat will perform a vocal duet, while there will also be a recital by Boston-based artiste Pratik Bharadwaj. The vocalists will be accompanied by Pradesh Achar (violin) and Sunil Subramanya (mridangam).

The institution focuses on teaching music, both vocal and instrumental, and also showcases art by organising concerts on its premises. Vocal and veena classes (regular and Skype, for international students), voice culture workshops, interactive sessions to create awareness about classical art forms and book reading sessions are organised by the trust.
