BENGALURU: Representatives of the Ramachandrapura mutt alleged on Monday that a conspiracy was on to defame Raghaveshwara Bharathi seer.
At a press meet, Raghavendra Madhyasta, manager of the mutt, said the state government had withdrawn the cases filed by the mutt against individuals, who
had accused the seer of wrongdoing.
The State Cabinet withdrew a case against a person who threatened the seer with videoclips that allegedly showed the seer in compromising positions. Recently, two cases against persons who had filed complaints against the seer were withdrawn, he said. The complainants were accused of threatening mutt members.
He said the withdrawal of cases by the government has given room for suspicion. “It appears the ploy is to ensure that the case of sexual assault against the seer continues, while the cases filed by the seer and his devotees are closed,” he added.
