Bengaluru South Leads in RTE Seat Allotments

In the academic year 2015-16, the Public Instruction Department allotted 1,00,067 seats under the Right to Education Act across the state.

BENGALURU: In the academic year 2015-16, the Public Instruction Department allotted 1,00,067 seats under the Right to Education Act across the state. A total of 1.11 lakh seats were available.

According to a declaration uploaded by the department on its official website, Bengaluru South allotted the highest number of seats, followed by Bengaluru North. In Bengaluru South, 15,382 seats were allotted, while in North, it was 11,172.

In 2014-15, a total of 1,10,794 seats were available under the Act, of which 1,01,913 were allotted through lottery.
