BENGALURU: Amazing sunrise and sunset view
I went there for an event and since I had to rush back to India for a shoot, I couldn’t spend much time there.
I stayed at Taj Samudra, right opposite to the beach. The sunrise and sunset in Sri Lanka is to die for. Especially the sunset, it is very colourful. You can see seven or eight different colours in the sky – hues of red, orange and blue too.
I would wake up early in the morning to meditate and watch sunrise. Watching it while having breakfast is an amazing experience.
During my stay, I felt like the most of the country is covered with water. I got to hear that as we head south, the beaches get cooler with long line of coconut trees. I witnessed them on my way to the airport.
Bane for filmmakers
I wondered, why filmmakers don’t choose to shoot in Sri Lanka. Perhaps, many think it is similar to India. But the country has got its own beauty and feel. They also support tourism. They love it when tourists visit their country.
I was there for the T20 World Cup for the Sri Lankan team. I met a few senior cricketers on the committee like Lasith Malinga and the Sri Lankan women team’s captain.
