BENGALURU: Upset over his wife marrying another man, a 33-year-old senior executive of a private company committed suicide by hanging at his house in Jnanabharati police limits on Wednesday.
The deceased Mukund was a resident of NGEF Layout in Nagarabhavi and was working for a mobile phone service provider in Electronics City. He was married to Chudamani, an assistant professor in a private college, in 2011 after they fell in love.
Police said Mukund’s neighbours, who noticed his body, alerted the police.
A senior police officer said Chudamani was preparing for KAS exams and was staying in a PG. In the meantime, she fell in love with another man and a few months ago she called Mukund’s family, asking them to find another girl for Mukund as she was not willing to stay with him anymore.
When Mukund learnt about it, he quarrelled with Chudamani over the issue and threatened her that he would file a case. On Wednesday, when he again contacted her over phone, Chudamani said she was on a honeymoon and asked Mukund not to disturb her.
A dejected Mukund wrote a suicide note wishing Chudamani a happy married life and that nobody was responsible for his death.
