BENGALURU: A 31-year-old software engineer ended his life by jumping from the fourth floor of Ascendas Park Square Mall on ITPL Main Road in Whitefield.

The techie jumped to his death on Wednesday night after texting his father-in-law saying, “I am leaving this world.”

The deceased, Krishna Balasubramanyam, was a native of Andhra Pradesh and was working as a manager in a software firm in ITPL. He was residing in Hoskote and was married to Swapna, also a techie, five months ago.

A police official said Krishna came to the food court in the fourth floor of the mall around 11.30 pm. He called some of his family members and after a while, crossed over the parapet wall and jumped.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Krishna had a marital discord and frequently fought with Swapna.

Before jumping to his death, he called his wife and father-in-law and spoke for a few minutes. Security guards and other staff alerted the Whitefield police before rushing him to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
