BJP to Lay Siege to BBMP Office Today

BENGALURU: Members of the BJP will lay siege to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) head office at N R Square on Saturday morning in protest against the Congress-JD(S) governance in the urban  local body.

Former deputy chief minister R Ashok, BJP Bengaluru urban unit chief Subba Narasimha, city BJP MLAs, 101 BJP councillors and thousands of partymen will take part in the protest.

“It is a protest against potholes that are leading to fatal accidents and uncleared garbage, which has given Bengaluru the name Garbage City. The Congress-JDS combo is not providing good governance. We will walk from Bannappa Park to the BBMP head office and then lay siege,” Opposition Leader in BBMP, Padmanabha Reddy, stated in a press release. 

A BJP leader said the proposed rally is expect to lead to traffic snarls. “We know it will cause inconvenience to the public. We do not have any other option. The public has to bear it,” he said.
