Free Medical Aid for TN Returnees

BENGALURU:  The state government has made arrangements to offer free medical aid to those returning to Bengaluru from flood-ravaged Chennai. “An epidemic breaking out in Chennai is the new challenge as flood waters have started receding. Medical teams have been deployed in four government hospitals — Victoria, Bowring, KC General and Jayanagar Hospital,” Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader said.

The minister told reporters on Monday that help desks would be set up at the Cantonment and City railway stations and at Shantinagar and Kalasipalyam bus terminals to guide people arriving from Chennai to avail free medical services. Ambulances will also be provided to take them to hospitals, if necessary, he added. A toll-free number (18004 250235) has been launched to provide medical consultation.
