BBMP Commissioner Urges Segregation at Source

BENGALURU: BBMP Commissioner Kumar Naik along with Pulikeshinagar MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy on Wednesday knocked on citizens' doors urging them to segregate waste at source.

A press release from BBMP said that authorities are very much part of the segregation awareness campaigns.  In the programme, conducted at Kaval Byrasandra ward in Pulikeshinagar,  Kumar Naik urged the residents to segregate waste at source. He pointed out that they have seven waste processing units, to which residents need to send segregated wet waste. He also directed officials not to take unsegregated waste. MLA Srinivasa Murthy asked residents to set up a model ward. "We need the public's cooperation,’’ he said. Joint Commissioner Health Yatish Kumar and Kaval byrasandra ward councillor Nethra were present. More than 300 members of resident welfare associations were present.
