BENGALURU: Samarthanam Trust, an organisation working for the disabled, will organise the ‘Bengaluru Walkathon’ at Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium Road in Jayanagar 3rd Block on Saturday.
The walkathon aims to bring awareness among people about understanding and appreciating the needs and concerns of disabled persons.
It is a platform to bring together people from different walks of life, including persons with disabilities.
A release said 10 per cent of the world’s population lives with some form of disability, with a majority of them in developing countries. Creating awareness and sensitising people is imperative to ensure the inclusion of the disabled in mainstream society.
