BENGALURU: The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested a person in connection with the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund scam. This is the fifth arrest in the case.
The arrested has been identified as Boregowda, who claims to be a social worker and an MCA graduate. A senior police officer said, “As of now, we are investigating the people who illegally used the funds. After thorough questioning, we will see whether there is a racket. We will also book hospitals or staff if we find their involvement.”
Money from the CM’s Relief Fund is used to part-fund medical expenses of poor and backward class people who cannot afford costly treatment. Police had earlier arrested Rajugowda, Ningegowda, Sadiq and Deshilinga. Deshilinga, who works as a computer operator at a private hospital, was giving fake bills and other medical certificates to the gang.
