The arrested has been identified as Boregowda, who claims to be a social worker and an MCA graduate. A senior police officer said, “As of now, we are investigating the people who illegally used the funds. After thorough questioning, we will see whether there is a racket. We will also book hospitals or staff if we find their involvement.”

Money from the CM’s Relief Fund is used to part-fund medical expenses of poor and backward class people who cannot afford costly treatment. Police had earlier arrested Rajugowda, Ningegowda, Sadiq and Deshilinga.
