Man Robbed of Rs11.5 Lakh at Knife-point at Ramamurthy Nagar

BANGALURU : Bike-borne men robbed `11.5 lakh from a man at knife-point in broad daylight in Ramamurthy Nagar on Friday.

The victim is Mahaveer Chand, a resident of Ulsoor. He owns an automobile service centre and runs a finance company.

Chand told police that around 11.30 am, he was returning to his shop on his scooter after withdrawing `11.5 lakh from a private bank on Banasawadi Main Road. On the way, he had stopped the vehicle in front of the Fire and Emergency service station to attend nature’s call and had left the key in the vehicle itself.

When he returned, the key was missing and a passerby told him that someone came near the vehicle and took away the key. He then saw glove box under the seat open and checked if the cash bag was inside. He took the bag out and was searching for the key when two men came on a bike and threatened him with a knife. They snatched the cash bag and fled. Chand then rushed to Ramamurthy Nagar police station and filed a complaint.

Police have obtained CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the identity of the accused.
