BENGALURU: A couple were killed on the spot after their scooter rammed into a roadside barrier at Ramanagaram on Thursday. The deceased are Lingashetty and Shailaja, from Maddur in Mandya.
They were on their way to a temple in Ramanagaram district, when Lingashetty allegedly lost control over the two-wheeler. According to the police, eye-witnesses said he was riding in a rash manner.
The scooter skidded and crashed into barrier, resulting in grievous head injuries.
Auto Driver Dies of Stab Wounds
A 36-year-old autorikshaw driver who was stabbed by his friend at Siddapura on Wednesday, died on Thursday.
The deceased Jaffer was a resident of Dayananda Nagar slum in Siddapura.
According to police, Jaffer used to have frequent fights with his friend Tabrez, who accused him of having an illicit affair with a member of his family. At 1.40 pm on Wednesday, both fought over the same issue following which Tabrez stabbed Jaffer repeatedly and fled .
