BENGALURU: A conference of vice-chancellors of universities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Puducherry will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, Vellore.
The conference will deliberate on issues concerning higher education such as access, equity, quality, governance, financing, student services and value education among others.
Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala will inaugurate the conference at 11 am on Saturday. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda will be the chief guest and former Indian Institute of Science director Dr P Balaram will deliver the keynote address. VIT University V-C G Vishwanathan will preside over the inaugural and Bangalore University V-C B Thimme Gowda will deliver the welcome speech.
