BMTC to Stop HOHO Service From Jan 7

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has decided to scrap the Hop-on-Hop-off service with effect from January 7. In its place, the corporation will introduce the ‘Bengaluru Darshini’ service with two A/C buses.

Bengaluru Darshini-1 will start from Kempegowda Bus Station at 8.45 am and will cover prominent tourist spots like Tipu palace, Bull Temple, Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple, Banashankari temple, Lalbagh, Visvesvaraya Museum,, Vidhana Soudha, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain, ISKCON and Prasanna Anjaneya temple. It will return to Kempegowda Bus Station at 8 pm. Bengaluru Darshini-2, which will start at 8.45 am, will cover these places in the reverse direction and reach Kempegowda Bus Station at 7.50 pm. The fares for adults will be `400 and for children, `300. Advance reservation will also be available, a release said.

Non-stop Vayu Vajra Service

BMTC is also starting non-stop Vayu Vajra service from Kempegowda Bus Station to Kempegowda International Airport. From Kempegowda Bus Station, the buses will leave at 8, 9,10, 10.45 and 11.55 am, 1.55 pm, 4.30, 5.05, 5.40, 6.15, 8, 9 and 10.45 pm. From Kempegowda International Airport, the buses will leave at 1.05 am, 9.10, 10.20, 11.55 am and 1.05 pm, 5.05, 5.40, 6.15, 6.50, 7.50, 9.35 and 11.35 pm. The fare will be `250, the release added.
