Man Consultancy Businessman of Rs.8L, Held

Bengaluru: The HSR Layout police on Friday arrested a 36-year-old man for cheating a businessman by promising a medical seat in a top college in the city.

The accused Srinivasan, director of AISY Consultancy in HSR Layout, contacted Tamil Nadu-based businessman Selvam who was seeking a medical seat for his daughter in Bengaluru. Srinivasan promised to get him  a seat and collected Rs.8 lakh.

After a few days, Selvam learnt that he was conned and approached the police. Srinivas told the police that he ran many companies like AISY Consultancy, Vayak Marketing, a spoken English institute, a call centre and franchises of private schools in the city and in Tamil Nadu.

Police recovered Rs.1.15 crore in cash, gold jewellery and two cars from him. They said he confessed that he was involved in five other cheating cases in the city.
