BENGALURU: In a futile attempt, three unidentified thieves struck a co-operative bank in Rajajinagar on Wednesday night.

Police said the incident took place around 2.30 am. The three men opened the door of Veerashaiva Co-operative bank, located in 3rd Block Rajajinagar, by using duplicate keys.

The students then alerted warden Jayasri, who rushed informed the police. Mani was taken to a private hospital and Nagesh (52), another guard was deployed to guard the building. After a while, police said Nagesh  collapsed and students took him to a nearby hospital, where he died due to cardiac arrest.
