BENGALURU: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Thursday arrested two men for being involved in hawala transactions and recovered Rs.9.95 lakh.
The arrested are Patel Khethan Kumar, a resident of Nagarathpeth and Umar Farooq, of Udayagiri in Mysuru.
Police said the accused were running a hawala business in Siddapura in the city they they were arrested following a tip off. “During the raid we found Rs.9.95 lakh that they had received through hawala transactions. They did not have a license to run a finance business nor did they maintain proper documents of their financial transactions,” said police.
